NVL Super 8 : IBB Polonia shock

London team's results (Men's and women’s Super8 - National Volleyball League)
Northumbria's successful weekend
Sheffield could well be a detour on Northumbria's way home, the Yorkshire city's side having done them a mighty good turn for which thanks are due in beating their nearest rival. Northumbria will be back in London again next weekend (18th-19th February) to the cauldron of Brentford Fountains, this time with the club's women's side too, where both Polonia teams will be keen to renew their challenge for honours.

Only four London Super8 teams in action next weekend (18/19th February) but all the matches are important both for our clubs and competitiveness of the league.

Part of a full weekend of fixtures
It's a quiet weekend in Super8 volleyball with just a single match; South Wales v Salford on 4th February. But it is to be followed by one packed with action and all our London teams on show, Docklands twice.

Four wins, two loses for London sides (Men's and women’s Super8 - National Volleyball League)
Other London teams victorious
London Docklands endured a tough double header weekend with matches against Sheffield at home and Wessex away. They showed flashes of quality in both matches but fell short on both days. Rather surprisingly, Malory struggled a little away to Solent and Lynx needed five sets to overcome Sheffield at home. In the women's Super8, Orcas enjoyed a good win away in South Wales while Polonia dropped a set at home to Tendring.

Leaders lose in London (Men's and women’s Super8 - National Volleyball League)
Orcas mixed trip north
Three London teams playing on Saturday (14th January): three victories. Pride of London are Malory Eagles who beat men's league leaders Northumbria in Tooting after five dramatic sets. As a result, London's IBB Polonia, their closest challengers now have a greater chance of honours especially after overcoming good opponents in Wessex away in Bournemouth in three sets. Pulsepoint Orcas also played away, in the first of two women's Super8 games over the week-end overcoming Salford.
