Men's Div. 1 A : Onyx and Powerball to open new season

Division 1A (Men's London Volleyball League)
Getting ready to start
Onyx B get the ball rolling in men's division 1A on Saturday 22nd September when Powerball, Spikers' reserve team, visits the Jewish Free School in Kenton. Next day Flaming 6 Blackjacks travel to Lionhearts Predators and during the following week Malory Eagles are at home to Willesden on 27th and K S Osemka at home to Lionhearts Pride on 28th September.

League season ends with tight finish
Onyx A had already secured promotion before this, their last league fixture of the season but pride demanded a win to claim also an unbeaten record. Despite a tight finish to the third set, the club achieved its aim and its supporters rejoiced.

National Shield quarter-final
Conquerors of Newmarket
The national media would call Willesden a non-league side. We know them as a London League Division 1 team: our division. They are but a lowly sixth in the A division. Does that not speak volumes for the standard of our games that they have reached the semi-final of the National Shield competition having reached the second round of the Cup where they were beaten by London Lynx 2?
