Recovery from two sets down
While two of the teams from the lower half of the division were battling over five sets in Bexley to determine bragging rights, two from the top half were engaged in an equally close encounter between two of the four sides challenging for honours. For a while it looked as though Rebels were going to be surprise winners but Sydney Lima had other ideas.

Spectacle starts session
A great five-setter began the second half of a season that is already proving a fascinating one and congratulations are due to both teams for an entertaining exhibition of local league volleyball. The match could hardly have been closer.

Then fight back strongly
The opening set score fairly represents the gulf between the teams in the first set. Tuskers were just too good for their much younger and less experienced opponents who appeared simply too nervous to make an impression. A couple of rotation faults bore witness to this but a good hit off the block by Lukas Purvaskis and one through the middle by Dhandt gave an indication of what the home side could do. However, with good setting by Hai-Binh Ly, and selective use of the height of Mateusz Stachura, Tuskers' fire power always had the upper hand and the whole side looked determined to bounce back from their pre-Christmas defeat by Fireball.

Steady progress against varied line-up
Everyone on the Police team played at least two full sets but, once again, there were several changes from their last match squad such are the demands of work rotas. Rebels took full advantage and gave all their bench a good run out, in the third set even using all nine of their players.
