Teenage talent produces thriller
Stuart Fullerton selected five teenagers for this match expecting the Wandsworth junior team they had faced in the first half of the season but Darius, although a junior himself, has a shrewd head on his shoulders and picked four more experienced players. It made for an exhilarating match.

Crisis of confidence confounds College
Apparently anchored at the foot of the table despite playing well on numerous occasions, Richmond College played for two sets as though they believed they had no chance of beating these older players from Paddington even though they started the first set showing good form.

With an injury frustrating the completion of their last league match, Richmond College were unable to persuade enough players to travel to Paddington to face the university side who duly claimed the points. A disappointed Philip Xenakis said, “It’s disappointing, as we were looking forward to the match.”

What a difference spectators make!
The hosts made an impressive start to this game and had just started the third set when Richmond College’s Xavier Anderson was injured and unable to continue. Sadly, the rules then give all the points needed to complete the set and the match to the complete team.
