London Volleyball : Welcome back to Kingston and Richmond

South London League prepares for the Autumn
Dave Rijvers has just announced details for next season’s South London Volleyball League. It will be held at dedicated venues in Richmond (Richmond College) and Kingston (Tiffin Sports Centre) and feature 28 teams, 10 junior teams, 5 sitting teams: some 300 people in all, with match nights on Monday evenings at Richmond College and on Thursday evenings at Tiffin Boys Sports Centre.

Finsbury Friendlies fly at last as Top Corner (www.topcorner.co.uk) put all the frustrations behind them this week (on 17th) and deliver a great Wednesday evening of friendly contest. The company’s initiative has been slow to get going and the tube strike seven days before had led to the evening’s cancellation. At last, it now looks set to take off.

London Volleyball : London Youth Games

The London Youth Games Volleyball Preliminaries took place at the SCORE Centre in Leyton over the Weekend of 6&7 June. 36 teams took part to qualify 8 teams for the Boys and Girls Semi-Finals on Sat 4th July at Crystal Palace.

Open in new windowAs the leagues wind down and kneepads head for the washer, more and more 'summer leagues' are announced. Joining Ernest Bevin (Tooting on Thursdays) and Richmond (on Tuesdays) London's South West has more opportunities, another Tuesday competition and one on Mondays.
