London Volleyball : London League gets organized
Posted by Darryl Collins on 2011/3/13 0:10:00 (452 reads)

The critical time plan has been set out for next season's London Volleyball League with the most important date - the closing date for next season's entries - being set for 31st July. This is 10 days earlier than last year and comes from thinking through what needs doing and what time period is reasonable for volunteers to attempt it in. For many clubs the ealier date won't make any difference, as they usually complete all the formalities during July anyway. However, some have relied on a little more time and these will need to work out how to get it all done.

London Volleyball : Could your sports hall do with a few improvements?
Posted by Gaby on 2011/2/1 16:10:00 (479 reads)

It would probably be fair to say that a number of sports halls used for volleyball could do with a few improvements to make them safer and more suitable for the game. A few things that could be on your wish list- referee stands, better net-posts and nets, better lighting, removal of overhead obstacles, redrawing of court lines to make better use of court space and the like.

It was brought to our attention at the London Federation of Sport open meeting on 26/01/2011 that Sport England will be launching a funding scheme in Summer 2011 under their 'People, Places, Play' programme that would be suitable for such purposes. Why not apply yourself or in collaboration with another volleyball (or other sport) club that shares/could share your facilities? Further information can be found at here at Sport England.
