With only late stages of the women's shield competition being played this weekend, the mid season break was stretched for most volleyball players. Moreover, the fixture list in London was halved with Onyx and Richmond deciding to play their tie a week later.

Two third round defeats
Defeats by Help4Heroes and Sheffield in the third round of the sitting volleyball Grand Prix staged in Kettering over the weekend (8/9th December) pushed East London Lynx, London's only representative in the Grand Prix, down to second place.

Aces men, Richmond and Dartford women succeed
Richmond women's first team and Essex Blaze played each other in the National League on Saturday (1st December) and were in action again on Sunday in the national women's Shield competition.
