London Volleyball League news
Coronavirus Covid 19 halts competition and other activities
After yesterday's government announcement, the London Volleyball Association has moved quickly and the Chair, Gary Beckford, made the following announcement this morning (17th March):

"In line with the developments around the COVID19 Coronavirus, the London Volleyball Association has decided to suspend the league until further notice. The suspension of the league will start from Wednesday 18th March.

Activities that will be put on hold are;
• London League matches
• Interregional training
• Junior Grand Prix tournaments
• Volleyball futures Easter workshops

Clubs should also consider following the government guidelines of stopping non-essential gatherings in relation to training sessions.

With the outbreak of COVID-19 coronavirus set to worsen in the weeks ahead, these decisions have been taken with the health and safety of our members, their friends and families and the wider community in mind. We understand these decisions will result in inconvenience and disappointment to players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters at what is a key point of the season, but it is our duty to protect everyone associated with our sport.

We appreciate you will have many questions about what happens next and, as we step further into this unchartered territory, we will endeavour to bring you answers as soon as we can.

Thank you for your understanding."

In addition, Volleyball England has decided to cancel all camps, courses and competitions until Wednesday, 20th May. Staff of the national governing body will be working from home so telephone communication will not be possible until further notice. When we know the alternative procedure, details will be posted on this page
