London Volleyball : Aces' men, IMKA and Wimbledon women progress

London teams' latest results (National Volleyball Shield)
London sides eliminate London sides
Aces, Polonia IMKA and Lionhearts all moved into the next round of their shield competition over the weekend with wins over Lynx men, White Bears women and Wimbledon Wildkats going out.

On Saturday the men completed their late played fixture from first round at Lambeth Academy in the Men's Shield and Aces eventually overcame Lynx but they needed five tough sets to complete the task and earn the right to travel to Weymouth Beach Volleyball Club on 4th January.

The two round two matches in the women's Shield on Sunday involved all the four London clubs still in the competition guaranteeing that the city's representation would be halved. In both cases the contest was between a team in the London Premier Division and one in its first division.
Premier division Polonia IMKA were at home in Ealing against Balham's White Bears and won comparatively easily They will be at home to Birmingham or Leicester in the quarter final in January.

First division Wimbledon Wildkats' premier division opposition were Lionhearts, making the journey from Bethnal Green and the visitors found their task a little easier than IMKA. Lionhearts will play away to Wessex 2 in the quarter final.
