London teams' latest results (National Volleyball Shield) Dartford and UEL eliminated Both Onyx men's teams were out in the past few days playing their second round national Shield matches a little later than most. The first team played Dartford on Saturday as planned; the second needed to reschedule after a double booking of UEL's venue.
In Saturday's game Onyx overwhelmed Dartford playing in Kensington and earned themselves a home game against New Forest. They are one division higher than Dartford in the National League but, after so thorough a victory, the west London side will be expecting more success on a date that must be fixed soon .
On Sunday UEL entertained Onyx Black of the London League Premier Division across the dock from City Airport. UEL put up a tremendous resistance after losing the first set heavily, securing the second set and then losing very narrowly two of the following three, finishing 25:23 13:15. How close!.
Both Onyx teams have a home draw in the third round: Onyx against New Forest on 30th December and Onyx Black against Urbond Portsmouth on 4th January.
