Premier Division (Men's London Volleyball League)
Two September games get things under way
Last year's runners-up get the new season going on 25th September when they are scheduled to play Wapping Wildcats at the Harrow Club on that evening. This year, the club has a second team in the top division, Onyx Black, and they will be in action two days later showing the strength of their challenge as they visit Rotherhithe to take on promoted SQUAD at Bacon's College Sports Centre.

The title holders, Richmond, will give us the chance to assess their form as they open their defence of the trophy on 10th October when they visit Wapping Wildcats and SQUAD will be in action for the second time on the same day, away to Lionhearts Alpha, ensuring all the promoted sides have an early opportunity to sharpen their game for the higher level.

Indeed, all eleven fixtures scheduled between now and the end of October look very competitive and it is going to be interesting to try and assess form for the rest of the season. The division's administrator is once again the experienced Frankie Moore so everything is set for an enthralling season. Frankie told us, “With Onyx and Lionhearts joining us on promotion and both having just had first round wins in the national knock-out cup, I’m expecting an exciting competition. I hope everyone is looking forward to the season and wish all the teams the best of luck.”

London Competitions Secretary Cisel Ormanci is also looking forward eagerly to the new season. She added, “Welcome to the League Season 2019/20. Congratulations to the 2018/19 trophy winner, Richmond as well as Onyx and Lionhearts Alpha who arrive as first division champion and SQUAD who triumphed in the play off to join the teams in the top division this year.
A quick message to all clubs who don’t have junior programmes...please develop one...I know it is hard work but a necessity if we are going to be around in another 10 years!
I hope you all continue to enjoy your volleyball and best of luck and smooth running this season.”
