Play-off matches, London Volleyball League
Going for promotion
Open in new windowPlaying in the highest possible division next season is the aim for every team in this tournament but the sense of drama is heightened because only one team in three will actually succeed and one in three is in danger of relegation in the contest for a Premier division place and for promotion in the women's competition; between men's 2 and 3 where three competitions feed into two, the odds are slightly better

Following the final league matches over the week-end, those who have that worry and those who approach the play-offs with eager anticipation now know what they have to do. The London association competitions committee has announced the fixture list:

Playoff games on Saturday 11th May:
10.30 am Blockbusters v VPS

12.30 pm VPS v BAKS 2

2.30 pm BAKS 2 v Blockbusters

Playoff games on Sunday 12th May:

11.00 am Men's 1st division play-off
Powerball v SQUAD

11.00 am Women's 1st Division play off
Malory Eagles v Wimbledon Wildkats

14.00 pm approx. Men's Premier Division challenge
Winners match 1 v Flaming Six Aces

1400 pm approx. Women's Premier Division challenge
Winner match 2 v Polonia Ladies

“I am pleased to say that we were able to secure one of the most iconic arenas in London, Crystal Palace National Sports Centre for the second year in a row," League and Association Secretary, Cisel Ormanci said. "This year, London League play offs will be running over two days on 11th and 12th May. On both days, we should be in for quality volleyball amongst some of the competitive volleyball teams in London city. We invite all to come and watch the games, Free admission.

"London League playoffs officially marks the end of 2018/19 league season for us all which leads me to remind all that there are many people behind the scenes who worked really hard this season making sure the League run smoothly. Thanks to everyone who helped me as divisional administrators as they more than anyone deserve our thanks when they make things happen, and when they make a mistake, or are subject to complaint, we should remind ourselves that they volunteered to do a job that probably no one else wanted. Please get involved as the League needs your help to ensure it runs smoothly. I certainly have enjoyed being the Competition Secretary and the challenges it brings for the past year.”
