Premier Division (Men's London Volleyball League)
Getting ready to start
Just twenty minutes after the mid-day warm up starts, Flaming 6 Aces of the men's Premier Division will be hosts against Inter Premier at Lambeth Academy in the very first match of London's league season. The sides finished sixth and fourth respectively last season so it should be a fascinating introduction to the competition.

Next day Onyx A will be at home to Wapping Wildcats and on the following Wednesday ULU are due to visit London Lynx. The other two teams start their campaign slightly later, Richmond visiting Wapping on 6th October and Spikers entertaining Aces on 8th.
Onyx were runaway winners of division 1A last season not losing a single match during the campaign so should start the season confidently. Wildcats will be tough opponents, however, having lost out on the title only by a single set lost more than Lynx in first place and who will forget the scare they gave IBB Polonia in a cup tie? Should be good Sunday evening entertainment. The champions are due to be in action the following Wednesday when they are scheduled to entertain ULU who lost only one match in division 1B last season, giving them confidence for this level of competition
Richmond's first match will be Wildcats' second but their first at home at the Britannia Leisure Centre. The ambitious Richmond club, third last season, again on a better sets difference than Inter, will be determined to make a good start to the campaign so the humdinger of a match can be expected: well worth the visit to North London. Two days later Spikers start their season with a home game against Flaming Six Aces. The teams finished fifth and sixth in the Spring and both will want to do well and make an early mark on what looks like being a very competitive season.
