Men's Div. 2 A : Newcomers and relegated to open new season

Division 2A (Men’s London Volleyball League)
Getting ready to start
For the first time in London's expanding competition, the men's league will have three second divisions and that required a new promotion/relegation rule. At the end of the season all three divisional winners will have earned promotion and the three second place teams will play a mini-tournament to decide who gains a fourth promotion spot. All were planned to have seven teams.

However. completing the line-up for men's division 2A was rather delayed because of different formalities in registering a prison team and we expect Tunnel Diggers to be back and building on the advances the team made last season. On the opening Saturday for the division, one of the two newcomers to the league in the division, Blockbusters will have a home game in Whitechapel against Baks, just relegated from the first division. It will be a test for both teams. Next day, the other newcomers, AVC London who play at Bridge Park Sports Centre in NW10, also have a home fixture and will play IVA Persia. IVA finished sixth in the division last season so the fixture should provide a good indication of teams' relative standard. On the following Tuesday Lynx 2 are due to travel to Red Rebels. Both teams played in the B division last season and Rebels finished two places higher than their visitors. We'll see how each has strengthened their side.
The original plan to have seven entries and the slightly late addition of Tunnel Diggers means that both Tunnel Diggers and Flaming Six Crusaders will wait until 7th October for their first game when the first will be at home to Red Rebels and the latter away to IVA Persia.
