Club turns down promotion for third team (Men’s D2B - London Volleyball League)
Spikers will have three teams at three levels
With Spikers in the Premier Division and Powerball in the first, Spikers V C has asked to be excused from the promotion earned by Fireball finishing second in men's Division Two B. Club secretary, Yevgeniy Stotyka explained that the team had asked to stay in the division.

He explained that two years ago Fireball was promoted to Division 1 but then the best players moved to Powerball - a higher level team within the London Spikers club, and this resulted in Fireball's average level drop which led to them losing all their matches and being relegated to Division 2.

The team is worried the same will happen again: that the best players will move up, the team will get new players from lower level and be demoted again which is an understandable concern and the team recognised the unusual request. Aware that we all play for pleasure, the association officers agreed and gave their permission.
