Beach Volleyball quarter-finals(Commonwealth Games)
England's men to play for bronze
Jake Sheaf and Chris Gregory won't win gold. They had qualified for the semi final by beating Scotland's Robin Brodzki and Sean Cook) 21:14 21:17 yesterday (10th April). Today they faced Australia's Christopher McHugh and Damien Schumann who were undefeated in the tournament so far in front of a crowd passionately shouting for their opposition and went down in two sets.

This means a play-off for bronze and their opponents were decided in the other semi when Canada's Samuel Pedlow and Sam Schachter beat Ben and Sam O'Dea of New Zealand 21:19 21:15. They play Thursday at 15.30 (6.30 BST)

So tomorrow's men's final will be Christopher McHugh and Damien Schumann (Australia) against Samuel Pedlow and Sam Schachter (Canada). Jake and Chris will play the brothers Ben and Sam O'Dea (New Zealand) for bronze and must overcome the defeat in their pool match by the same pair.

In the first women's semi final, Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan (Canada) beat Mariata Angelopoulou and Manolina Konstantinou (Cyprus) 21:7 21:12. In the second Mariafe Artacho del Sol and Taliqua Clancy (Australia) beat Linline Matauatu and Miller Pata (Vanuatu) who had been taken to three sets by England's Jess Grimson and Vicky Palmer with the score 21:19 16:21 15:9 to give Australia a team in both finals.
