Southall Sikh camp
Raj Sangha organises volleyball
Open in new windowAs the season progresses there seems to be more and more news of more younger players being attracted to our sport. The latest enterprise is in west London.

SGSS Southall coach, Rajinder Sangha is involved in organising a four day kids Easter period Sikh Camp in Southall from Wednesday to Saturday (11-15th April) and will be putting up three outdoor volleyball courts. One adult height and two lower height. There will be between 500 and 600 kids there, some of whom already play the ping pong style of volleyball and Raj is keen to get them into the FIVB version – and as a feeder into the core SGSS Southall club team. He says he expects to be exhausted on the first day, let along four!

Yesterday the community had its annual Sikh Vasakhi Nagar Kirtan ‘parade’ in Southall with thousands of people present so he has been very busy already and obtaining balls suitable for play outdoors in the rain that's expected proved a challenge: overcome thanks to Sportset.

The picture is of the camp kids who did the Sikh martial arts yesterday – the potential new players!
