Semi finals (Women’s knock-out Shield)
Polonia IMKA added to London's representatives
Open in new windowAnother London team booked its day in Kettering yesterday when, in the semi finals of the women's Shield, Polonia IMKA overcame Team Essex.

They started well; they finished well; they battled hard in the second set to contain and overcome the side from the first division of the National League, albeit one that is facing relegation. For a side only in fourth place in London's regional league Premier Division - challenging for third with a game in hand - IMKA were exceptional.
"The team worked really hard to get to the final because the recent snowing weather meant that IMKA had to play back to back quarter and semi-finals again against national league opposition to get to the final." club president Frankie Moore told us.

Much further north in the other semi, Sheffield, currently top of the National League first division but challenged by our own Malory Eagles who have games in hand, overcame near neighbours Darkstar Derbyshire in three close sets and will face IMKA in Kettering .
