Tunnel Diggers beat Tuskers (Men’s D2A - London Volleyball League)
21:13 15:21 16:21 21:18 15:9
Tuskers well beaten, says Doyle
The divisional administrator has just received the following email:
Tunnel Diggers win their first match since 2008.
Tuskers spend the night in Wormwood Scrubs after being beaten 3-2 (21-13, 15-21, 16-21, 21-18, 15-9)

Please don't take all the message literally but it conveys the team's surprise at the end of the fifth set as well as most followers of the game's disbelief on hearing the news. "Tunnel Diggers have improved a lot," Tuskers' coach Jonathan Doyle told the world afterwards, astonished that although Tuskers had some impressive power plays, Tunnel Diggers' defence was able to keep play alive.
With Tuskers' small squad requiring players lining up out of position and Tunnels unorthodox attacking style allowed them to win points and keep pace, the underdogs took the sets necessary to win.

"Yes Tuskers could of played better, but the Tunnel Diggers deserved their win," was Jonathan's assessment at the close of the afternoon.
