5th Series results, (Richmond VC Challenger Cup)
Newcomers runners up
Reputation brings results. The message of the enjoyable monthly tournament in Richmond attracted two new entrants yesterday (Sunday 7th January) to the temporary venue at Hampton Boys School and, while Wimbledon Penguins won, our division's SGSS Southall finished second.

Organiser David Rijvers expressed his thanks to all the teams who took part in the Community Challenger Cup and was full of praise for Wimbledon Penguins' performance in winning the competition and for the enthusiastic participation of SGSS Southall that took the side to second place. The venue looked after the teams well and David congratulated both teams for their performance. The lower places were occupied by Azzurri, RVB Young Guns, RVB Stags and RVB Bucks.

There are only four weeks until the next and final round of the competition to be held on Saturday 3rd February 2018 at the usual venue Richmond College Sports Hall, Twickenham (11.30am to 5pm). News of this tournament has been published regularly during the season but, in view of the success of one of our teams, we congratulate them here and add that everyone else is most welcome to enter the final stage, the sixth series of the Challenger Cup
