Mid season review (Women’s Premier Division - London Volleyball League)
Inter, IMKA and Bears looking strong
We have a strange looking league table as the competition goes into its mid season break: only one team with an unbeaten record but two that have yet to record a win. It looks very much as though it will remain, "All to play for," in the second half of the season.

The unbeaten side is Lionhearts East who have dropped only a single set so far, strangely perhaps, to one of the teams that have yet to record a win - but the club's reserves, Jamme Ja. Topping the table like their men's side is Inter who came back well away to East after a poor start, 21:10 26:24 21:16 in their first game of the season and who also dropped a set to Jamme Ja. White Bears are in third spot with four wins in six outings, their losses being to Inter and East. Having played fewer games, Polonia IMKA lie in fourth place but they have been beaten only once, by East.

Only sides beneath them in the table have lost to ULU so their mid table position looks a little precarious especially as they have not yet played Jamme Ja whose other two losses came in one five set match: 21:9 21:19 17:21 19:21 9:15 at home to White Bears and a 2:2 "draw" (71:78) also at home against IMKA. Lionhearts' reserves look a little stronger, therefore, than Malory Eagles and Flaming 6 Angels although Eagles lost to IMKA only in a 15:12 fifth set and Angels by the same fifth set score against White Bears while Eagles beat Angels 21:15 21:17 21:19, Angels having also lost in three sets away to Lionhearts East.

Things could change dramatically yet. Key matches well worth watching in the early days of the second half of the season that could make a big difference include:
9th January, Inter v Lionhearts East
15th January, Lionhearts East v White Bears
18th January, Lionhearts Jamme Ja v Inter
21st January, ULU v Polonia IMKA
30th January, Inter v White Bears
12th February, Lionhearts East v Polonia IMKA
