Men's Div. 2 A : Tuskers success lifts IVA higher

IVA Persia lost to Tuskers (Men’s D2A - London Volleyball League)
19:21 21:15 21:10 15:21 14:16

Fabulous five sets
The result of the game had the strange effect of putting IVA top of the table, one point for the loss and the playing of more games than their nearest rivals, pushing them clear of SQUAD for a moment. However, it's Tuskers who are cheering.

Two well balanced teams produced a quality match that turned out to be both entertaining and exciting. Tuskers, with just six players, played unchanged throughout the evening by default, but IVA used their starting six for pretty well the entire match although Faraz Abjmoudi enjoyed effective spells on court in sets two and four as well as late in the fifth.

The visitors started well and maintained their form to edge the first set before rather losing their way and looking a beaten side for the next two sets. However, Jonathan Doyle restored team morale for the fourth to set up a final set that both teams will remember for a very long time which Tuskers just managed to shade.

A fine win for Tuskers that pushes them into the top half of the league table.
