SQUAD beat Tunnel Diggers (Men’s D2A - London Volleyball League)
21:17 21:7 21:5

Leaves teams top and bottom
The progressively improving Tunnel Diggers surprised the high flying Burros team in the opening set but were then hit by a side that itself had been hit by the realisation that they ought to be well on top. And that's how they finished off the 'home' game played at their opponents' venue.

Credit to Tunnel Diggers all the same for a spirited opening twenty minutes. They matched SQUAD before slipping to 7:6 and then 11:6 when a time-out earned the side-out that created a run of points spearheaded by great serving by Mo Hussein that forced SQUAD to seek a time-out at 11;10 before Tunnel Diggers levelled the scores at 11:all. They remained in contention until 18:17 when a good rally brought Raphael Ruijsenaars: part of a double substitution at 11:10, to serve and he polished off the points needed for the set.

After that, it was all very one-sided and SQUAD finished in a style worthy of an unbeaten side that was leaping to the top of the league table.
