NVL Super 8 : Weekend of vital matches
Posted by Douglas Barr-Hamilton on 2017/12/12 14:50:02 (140 reads)

Two Saturday, one Sunday London match (Men's and women’s Super8 - National Volleyball League)
Malory, Polonia London derby
The last weekend before the Christmas break has three Super8 matches scheduled in London, two men's games on Saturday 16th December and one women's the following day.

It will be London v London at Ernest Bevin College where Malory Eagles entertain IBB Polonia in a match both will be eager to win, Malory to continue their most promising start in recent years and Polonia to build on the climb back into contention they started against Lynx a week before. Well worth the visit, the match will start at two o'clock and not at three as has appeared in some promotion of the event. We don't want anyone to arrive half way through the match. Indeed, why not arrive considerably earlier to see the women's National League match against Bristol. Still undefeated, the team would value loads of support as they seek to challenge for the title and promotion.

Richmond Docklands are one place above their opponents, Sheffield and the two meet at Christ's School in Richmond, first serve thirty minutes before Malory's game. Sheffield are one place below Richmond Docklands in the league table and have played one fewer game. After losing to Essex Blaze last Saturday the home side will want to bounce right back and is looking for loads of support.

Next day Orcas will take on Durham who, like Northumbria and Polonia Sideout have lost just one league match so far this season. Orcas will want to do the pair a favour, especially Polonia, so covet a big crowd to urge them to success, a success that would take them within striking distance of their opponents for the second half of the campaign.
