Under 15 Boys London Grand Prix
Sparkling second stage of series
Graveney School in Tooting last month, Southgate School in Barnet today (9th December) the second round of the under 15 boys LVA Grand Prix had an early 9.00 a.m. start to an action-packed morning of quality volleyball, played in timed matches.

The only disappointment, but a big one, was the absence of the teams from Richmond although given the freezing weather and the distance to be travelled, was understandable. So it was that three teams each from VK Barnet, the local club, and from Ernest Bevin College from Tooting could share the honours amongst themselves. The Barnet boys had been drawn from six different local schools, the larger number from Queen Elizabeth's Boys' School and Southgate School while their opposition were all from the same school. A wider age range among the hosts, the youngest being Year 7 with others up to the under 15 limit; Ernest Bevin put out members of their under 13 and under 14 squads.

In the final, VK Barnet 3 pulled back from a large "half-time" deficit to finish 24:19 against Ernest Bevin 1 while there was an extremely close game for third and fourth places, also won by Ernest Bevin, their second team overcoming Barnet's first 25:23.
