Men's Div. 2 A : Tunnel Diggers deep into IVA Persia land
Posted by Douglas Barr-Hamilton on 2017/12/6 11:50:00 (29 reads)

Tunnel Diggers lost to IVA Persia (Men’s D2A - London Volleyball League)
13:21 19:21 17:21
Improving prison side
IVA took a small squad to East Acton and were made to work hard for victory by the improving side assembled at Wormwood Scrubs.

The first set was rather scrappy but the visitors settled quickly into unfamiliar surroundings and pulled further and further ahead from the midway point. The second was excellent with both teams clearly enjoying themselves and playing better with much improved teamwork. The home side worried IVA when closing to 19:20 but the time-out taken then settled the visitors who took a two set lead.

In many ways, the best volleyball was reserved for the third and there were considerably fewer errors but IVA had enough in reserve to take the victory.
