Under 15 Boys London Grand Prix
Five contests around London
South London has a big share of junior competition in the programme recently published but it's great to see the under 15 boys will be playing in Barnet and Richmond too.

The first two rounds will be held soon and come in quick succession:
Saturday 25th November
at Graveney School, Welham Way, SW17 9BU from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
Saturday 9th December
at Southgate School, Sussex Way, EN4 0BL from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Support in Tooting and Cockfosters in the weeks leading up to Christmas will be welcome.

The third round takes place four weeks into the new year:
Sunday 28th January
at Gray Court School, Ham Street, TW10 7HN from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Make a New Year Resolution to get along to Richmond.

The final rounds are scheduled late in the indoor season:
Saturday 28th April
at Ernest Bevin College, Beechcroft Road, SW17 7DF from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Saturday 5th May
at Ernest Bevin College, Beechcroft Road, SW17 7DF from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Witness the competition climax at a familiar venue in Tooting Bec.

The competition has a few special rules. Teams will have four players each and the games played on a badminton size court with the net at 2.24m. The initial tournament is designed to determine team rankings in order to decide on the composition of pools in subsequent rounds. Graveney will welcome twelve teams who will first play in one of four three team pools after which there will be separate semi finals and finals for the pool winners, runners up and losers to establish two tiers (positions one to six and seven to twelve) that will be retained for the next tournament. There will be promotion and relegation between the tiers at the end of each tournament with new entrants and any team rejoining after dropping out starting its next tournament in the second tier.

At the moment the initial tournament is not full and there is room for five more teams to compete. If you want to join in, there is still room but don't delay as interest has been expressed by two more. If you would like to join Richmond, Lycée Français and EBS, do contact Ashley Trodden

Under15 girls will be having their own series of tournaments with the opening one being held at the same time as the boys (Saturday 25th November) but in a different place: at Southgate School (address above) a relatively short walk from Oakwood tube station on the Piccadilly Line. Teams from Barnet, CFGS, Polonia and Richmond have entered but there is still place for four more entries at the initial tournament. If Interested, contact Eric Hill . Details of subsequent tournaments are expected to be published very shortly.
