Season preview (Women’s Premier Division - London Volleyball League)
Who will challenge Lionhearts and IMKA?
With finishing touches being made to the schedule of games, we can look ahead to another entertaining volleyball season in London.

The women's Premier Division 2016/17 produced the tightest of competitions and we can justly claim the women's game is of a high standard, Inter being runaway winners of the national third division (South-east) while finishing only a humble fourth in the London Premier Division last season.

The division had been won by Lionhearts East only on sets difference from Polonia IMKA, each team winning 3:1 at home when they met one other. Beneath them things were close with Lionhearts' second team (Jamme Ja) shading Flaming Six Angels and ULU. QKX and IVA Golestan were relegated to be replaced by Division One winners Malory Eagles and Bears. the former having shaded Division 1A on sets difference from Inter and the latter with one more victory than Malory Eagles 2 and London Lynx in 1B.

The fixture list proposes that the season starts on 2nd October when the title holders welcome Inter and continues three days later with Polonia IMKA travelling to Lionhearts Jamme Ja to be followed on 8th October when Flaming Six Angels expect to be at home to Bears and 10th October when Inter and Jamme Ja play their second matches in Kentish Town. The students at ULU won't need to play until 15th when they host Malory Eagles and both sides open their league season.
