Fabulous five sets
The huge Copper Box could have been a huge vacuum. Instead, two good, competitive sides and loads of noisy support made it seem almost intimate and a great venue for this season's play-offs. Who was going to challenge for the second division's second place in next season's first division?

At first it looked as though it would be Willesden, attacker Daniela Popivici sublime at the net, they eased through the opening set. A little doubt began to creep in during the second set as Wapping's favourite attacker, Danielle Ferguson found her form and her side pushed Divas all the way despite going down for a second set.

However, they were now much more confident and they deservedly won the third before imposing themselves on proceedings in levelling the score with a tremendous fourth set. The fifth had all the spectators on the edge of their seat and not until the very end did Willesden gain the upper hand but, late in the afternoon, gain it they did helped no end by a well-judged time-out from coach Stuart Fullerton. They were going to play again. But could they make the first division?

Copper Box : QEOP, 13th May

Referee: Katrina Cepinova
