London teams' first round (Men's and women’s knock-out Cup)
Four "walk-overs" spoil day of achievement
London enjoyed a great opening to the English national cup competition with only one team losing to opposition from outside the region and that a club from the second tier of the local league testing the water against a National League side and taking it to 16:14 in a fifth set.

Richmond pair off to Argentina
Volleyball England has today (6th September) announced that Richmond's beach volleyball stars Javier and Joaquin Bello have been officially selected to represent Team GB at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The pair had just been named in the British Olympic Association’s 42-strong team for the Games which take place in the Argentine capital from the 6th to 18th October.

Women's Div. 1 B : Division opens new women's season

Division 1B (Women’s London Volleyball League)
Getting ready to start
The very first women's match of the season is scheduled is between IVA Homa and Wapping Tigers at one o'clock on Sunday 23rd September at Moberly Sports Centre in Kensal Rise followed the same day by an 8 o'clock evening game at St Augustine's School, Westminster where ULU entertain Wapping Tigers. The division's fixture list continues with Malory Eagles 2 at home to Wimbledon Wildkats on Tuesday 2nd October and with Flaming 6 Blaze at home to London Lynx on Sunday 7th.

Hard on the heels of IBB Polonia's news that they had secured the services of top coach Simon Loftus arrived the news on 11th July of the demise of their main contender in the top flight with its women's side which is currently the knock-out Cup holder both having topped the Super8 divisions last season.

Sitting League : Sitting Volleyball:League Final Round

Sunday 6th February was the final round of matches for the inaugural London Sitting Volleyball League (LSVL). This new competition set up in this Paralympic Games year was designed to complement the Volleyball England Grand Prix Series and provide some additional competition for the 3 teams based in and around London both to help the teams continue their impressive recent development but also give the Great Britain Players some additional matches in preparation for the WOVD Inter Continental Cup in Cairo at the end of February.
