London Volleyball : Two ladies' sides fly the flag in Europe

Juniors in Poland
The players were buzzing as the day drew near for their departure. They were off to a big European club tournament in Poland and flying the flag for England in the town of Jaslo against teams from Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine as well as five from Poland itself. They play today (16th November) and tomorrow and, as play got under way, sent us a picture of the scene with all the flags.

Appointed during the summer, Sue Storey has this week (4th November) begun her new role as Volleyball England's Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Janet Inman who has spent the last three and a half years in that post but who is, of course, a long term volleyball enthusiast likely to continue to contribute to our sport.

London teams' latest results (National Volleyball League)
Women's Super League thrown wide open
London's volleyball fans were spoilt for choice over the weekend with seven matches being played in the nation's capital city over the two days. What riches, especially at the end of the week when they had seen European Championship volleyball at the Copper Box Arena. The Super League men did not fail to reward them and finished the weekend occupying first, second and fourth places in the league table.

Gentler start to B division season
With the third round of matches falling into the first week of November as the computer churned out the new season's fixture list, all but two of this division's teams were given only two October matches. With teams names like Coyotes, Fury, Stingrays and Tigers, it sounds more as though half of them are straining at the leash and ready to go.

Sitting League : Sitting Volleyball:League Final Round

Sunday 6th February was the final round of matches for the inaugural London Sitting Volleyball League (LSVL). This new competition set up in this Paralympic Games year was designed to complement the Volleyball England Grand Prix Series and provide some additional competition for the 3 teams based in and around London both to help the teams continue their impressive recent development but also give the Great Britain Players some additional matches in preparation for the WOVD Inter Continental Cup in Cairo at the end of February.
