London Beach Volleyball
Eager for August on the Beach
The seaside is the place to be in August and many London beach volleyball players will be heading to the coast. Favourites look like being the big Bournemouth event over 17th and 18th August including its one star UKBT mixed Saturday and three star men and women Sunday, three star and four star tournaments for both men and women in Cardiff over 24th and 25th August and the South Coast Grand Prix in Worthing: women on Saturday, 31st August and men's on Sunday 1st September.

Open in new windowIBB Polonia rightly anticipated a strong challenge from Sheffield when choosing Crystal Palace and its greater spectator capacity for their last league match of the season and their introduction of Brazilian international star, Giba. The visitors produced some excellent volleyball to show that even fifth best is not far behind the best. While Polonia underlined the fact that they are best.

Two wins in three days put ULU deservedly top of the table but it was a surprise defeat of Wimbledon Wildkats by Wapping Tigers two days earlier that meant theirs was the only remaining unbeaten record in the division.

Sitting League : Sitting Volleyball:League Final Round

Sunday 6th February was the final round of matches for the inaugural London Sitting Volleyball League (LSVL). This new competition set up in this Paralympic Games year was designed to complement the Volleyball England Grand Prix Series and provide some additional competition for the 3 teams based in and around London both to help the teams continue their impressive recent development but also give the Great Britain Players some additional matches in preparation for the WOVD Inter Continental Cup in Cairo at the end of February.
