Sitting volleyball Is a fast, exciting and enjoyable sport for athletes with disabilities and able-bodied people! Here is a great opportunity to take a one day sitting volleyball referee course in England, and get involved in this fast-growing version of the sport at ‘ground level’. Volleyball England is developing eight regional hubs for sitting volleyball, initally based on eight clubs around England; the teams are meeting during the season for one-day tournaments—four are taking place in 2009-10, and more will follow in the 2010-11 season.
The course: - Will cover the key differences normal v sitting game - Taught by Steve Walton (international sitting volleyball referee; international sitting volleyball referee instructor).
You will receive before the course: - Electronic copy of the sitting volleyball rule book - Document on the key differences from the ‘indoor’ volleyball rules
Award: Course includes theoretical teaching and an exam. Successful candidates will be awarded the Grade C sitting volleyball referee qualification.
Requirements: - Qualified 'indoor' referee (registered or passed a Grade 4 course in the last 3 years) - If you are not qualified in this way, you may attend the course and take the exam, but you will not be recognised as a sitting volleyball referee by Volleyball England until you also take and pass a Grade 4 ‘indoor’ volleyball referee course.
When and where - English Institute of Sport, Sheffield - Sunday 28 February 2010 : Arrive by 10:15
The first part, up to 12.30 pm, will be the theoretical teaching. After lunch (please bring your own) you will take the one hour Grade C sitting volleyball referee exam. The course will end by 2.30 pm.

(If you send the form by email you must also send a cheque for £10 in the post, arriving by no later than one week before the course for your booking to be accepted.)
When you book, Steve will email you the rule book and the ‘differences’ document to read and study before the course.
The earlier you register, the more time you have to study and prepare.
