As he was the sixth player and the squad has been hit by a string of injuries an urgent email was essential. We wish him a speedy recovery.</description>

      <description>The British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced the list of recipients of the 2011 Olympic Athlete of the Year trophy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The award was introduced in 2005, to mark the BOA’s Centenary Year and the success of London being awarded the 2012 Olympic Games. The BOA presented a trophy to each of the 33 summer and winter Olympic sports for them to award on an annual basis to their top performing athlete of the year.</description>

      <title>Sitting Volleyball League</title>

      <description>The inaugural London Sitting Volleyball League took place this weekend at the home of the Great Britain Sitting Volleyball teams, Roehampton University.  With the three London based teams coming together over a series of days from December to February, with on each day, all teams playing each other in five set matches to determine the winner.  The competition is set to be a hotly contested one as it includes the two finalists from the 2010-11 Volleyball England Grand Prix Series and the newly formed London Malory Eagles Sitting Volleyball team, all fighting it out to decide who will become the first ever London Sitting Volleyball Champions.</description>

      <title>Young Officials Deployment Officer</title>

      <description>We have a new position in volleyball in London ~ &lt;strong&gt;Young Officials Deployment Officer (YODO)&lt;/strong&gt; ~ Young officials are trained to officiate schools volleyball, basically the Super Mini 4v4 version of the game played at U15 level.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The YODO&#039;s have a small part time voluntary role described in the attached presentation and role description, which requires them to identify tutors to train the young officials, and then act as a liaison person to ensure the young officials get to officiate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is a budget of £500 from YST to help get this work done and a full time Young People Co-ordinator (YPC) in the Volleyball England office will be leading the YODOs in each region.</description>
